We’re delighted to be able to celebrate with the whole village the 80th Anniversary of VE Day by hosting an event from 4:30pm on 8th May 2025. The programme of events is as follows:
- 4.30pm Unveiling of the Widford Remembrance Poppy Display.
- 4.30-6.30pm Widford on the Home Front exhibition. Afternoon tea will be served.
- 6.30pm Church bells will ring out in celebration along with bells across the country.
- 6.50pm Act of Remembrance.
- 7.l0pm Lighting of the Beacon.
- 7.15pm Celebration of Peace BBQ.
